Digico Celebrates 20 Years and Launches New
State-of-the-Art Facility in Suzhou, China
Digital Concepts, Inc. (DCI) was founded in 1990 to design and develop electronic controls for the fitness industry. Nearly 35 years later they’ve grown to become a world-class leader in motor control and user interface for the fitness industry.
In order to meet increasing demand and streamline production in the Asian market, Digico Electronics was established in 2004. Located in Suzhou, China, Digico recently celebrated their 20th anniversary as well as opened a new cutting-edge electronics manufacturing facility. This expansion underlines Digico’s commitment to innovation and excellence in electronic control solutions for the global fitness industry.
Celebrating 20 Years of Innovation and Growth
To commemorate the dual milestone, Pivot International’s CEO Mark Dohnalek and DCI’s Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, Jack Greenwood, traveled to Suzhou to participate in the festivities. The event featured a vibrant traditional lion dance, an eye-dotting ceremony, and a ribbon-cutting led by Digico’s General Manager, Katherine Zhang. Following the celebration, attendees toured the new facility to get a firsthand look at its advanced capabilities.
Inside Digico Electronics New State-of-the-Art Facility
Spanning 42,000 square feet, the new facility is equipped with three fully automated SMT (Surface Mount Technology) lines, mirroring DCI’s Juarez, Mexico site. The facility supports a wide range of advanced manufacturing capabilities, including:
- High-Precision Assembly: Fine-pitch (0201) component placement, BGA (Ball Grid Array) technology, PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), and console assembly.
- Soldering Excellence: ROHS-compliant through-hole assembly via wave soldering and an Automatic Soldering Robot for complex soldering requirements.
- Conformal Coating: An American-made coating machine that enhances reliability by protecting components from dust, moisture, and salt exposure.
- Quality Control: Robust testing protocols, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), and functional testing for motor controllers and displays.
These features ensure consistent quality and innovation, meeting the rigorous standards of fitness equipment manufacturing.
Pioneering the Future of Fitness Technology
The completion of this facility strengthens Pivot International’s global production network, ensuring the latest in manufacturing technology for DCI’s clients worldwide. To explore how Digico’s solutions can advance your projects, reach out to our team for more information.
